We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper with strong experience in UK-based accounting and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage, with solid knowledge of UK VAT, payroll, bank reconciliations, and preparation of accounts to trial balance. The role requires accuracy, punctuality, and excellent communication skills to work with international clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for UK clients using Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
- Prepare and review VAT returns in compliance with UK HMRC requirements.
- Process payroll including PAYE, NI, and pensions.
- Perform bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and ledger management.
- Prepare accounts up to trial balance and assist in management reports.
- Liaise with clients for queries, adjustments, and timely submissions.
- Support accountants with year-end accounts and tax filings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (ACCA/ACA/part-qualified preferred).
- 3–5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (UK experience required).
- Strong proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
- Excellent knowledge of UK VAT, payroll, and bookkeeping standards.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and client-handling skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to meet deadlines consistently.
