The Quality Assurance Manager will champion, support and lead quality management/improvement initiatives. He/she will ensure that all managers, process owners and supervisors develop and maintain the quality management system.

Position requires working with department heads to develop quality control processes and procedures for streamlined production/operations management. He/she will lead the continuous improvement efforts/projects on the production floor, utilizing lean & 6-sigma concepts where applicable to ensure maximized returns at least costs.

Job Description:

  • Work with department heads and develop quality control processes and procedures for streamlined production/operations management that supports the company objectives.
  • Lead the continuous improvement efforts/projects on the production floor, utilizing lean & 6-sigma concepts where applicable to ensure maximized returns at least costs.
  • Ensure that new products are introduced as efficiently as possible, and that the appropriate Standard Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and flow charts are in place for the employees to minimize risks.
  • Managing and mentoring professionals and team members, allocating work among team members and guiding them during the project, until final delivery.
  • Manage a team of quality control & continuous Improvement ensuring they are achieving stated goals.
  • Determining, negotiating and agreeing in-house quality procedures, standards and/or specifications.
  • Assessing customer requirements and ensuring that these are met.
  • Specifying quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers.
  • Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with standards at both national and international level.
  • Determining training needs, acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance/quality.
  • Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
  • Assessing product specifications and customer requirements. 
  • Considering application of environmental and health and safety standards. 
  • Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures 
  • Working methodically to establish a clearly defined management system that all staff can apply 
  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation. Coordinate with quality control to supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks.
  • Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary 
  • Collating and analyzing performance data against defined parameters, writing technical and management system reports. 
  • Supervising the program of internal auditing and pinpointing relevant quality-related training needs. 
  • Working closely with purchasing staff to establish supplier quality performance criteria and monitor supplier performance.
  • Assessing suppliers' product specifications and quality plans and supervising the program of supplier audits
  • Liaising with other managers and staff, particularly in areas such as design, production and purchasing. 
  • Persuading sometimes experienced and reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods 
  • Acting as key contact with customers' auditors and being responsible for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications.

Required Knowlege Skills & Abilities:

  • Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial Management, Electronics/Mechatronics, Computers Science/ IT) preferably with degree in business administration with focus on operations management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in working in quality assurance department.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to work and communicate productively with cross functional groups. 
  • Proven experience in managing ISO standards. 
  • ISO 9001-2008 training/certification required.
  • Lean, Six Sigma training/certification is a plus.
