Job Responsibilities:
- Daily Morning & Evening (MICU, SICU&MSD, SSD) round with Critical Care Consultant.
- Set equipment’s control to regulate the flow of oxygen, gassesand mists.
- Administer respiratory therapy treatment by performing Bronco pulmonary drainage.
- Monitor physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases and blood chemistry changes.
- Monitor Check, Calibrateand maintain respiratory therapy equipment’s.Perform limited physical examination and conduct diagnostic procedures e.g. pulmonary function test to check lung capacities.
- Perform endotracheal, nasotracheal suctioning and tracheotomy care.
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Assist patient with breathing exercises.Provide complex therapy requiring considerable independent judgment, such as caring for patient on life support (Ventilator, BIPAP, CPAP) in intensive care units.
- Assist with physician during intubation, bronchoscopy and chest tube insertion.
- Perform duties as per privileges assigned.
