As an Assistant Professor of Operative Dentistry, you will be a vital faculty member responsible for teaching, clinical supervision, and scholarly activity in the field of restorative, preventive, and endodontic dentistry. This role is crucial for developing the clinical skills and scientific knowledge of future dental practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching and Clinical Instruction 

  • Design and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions for undergraduate students (BDS) in Operative Dentistry, including dental materials, cariology, restorative techniques, and basic endodontics.

  • Provide effective clinical supervision and chairside instruction to undergraduate students, guiding them in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and execution of various restorative procedures on patients in the dental hospital/clinic.

  • Develop, administer, and grade student assessments, ensuring they meet the standards set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMC) and the institution.

  • Participate in the teaching and training of postgraduate trainees (FCPS/MS/MDS) in advanced operative procedures, if applicable.

2. Research and Scholarship 

  • Develop and maintain an active research agenda in operative dentistry, dental materials, or related clinical fields.

  • Seek and apply for research grants and funding to support scholarly activities.

  • Supervise and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects and dissertations.

  • Publish research findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the department's academic standing.

3. Service and Departmental Contribution 

  • Contribute significantly to the review and modernization of the Operative Dentistry curriculum and clinical teaching protocols.

  • Serve on departmental and college committees related to academic affairs, examinations, and clinical governance.

  • Participate actively in continuing dental education (CDE) programs, professional development, and quality assurance initiatives.

  • Assist the HoD in administrative tasks related to clinic management, material inventory, and record-keeping.
