Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical and Teaching Leadership
Deliver advanced lectures, seminars, and comprehensive clinical supervision for undergraduate (BDS) students and postgraduate trainees (FCPS/MS/MDS) in complex restorative procedures, endodontics, and dental material science.
Lead the development and coordination of specific clinical training modules within the Operative Dentistry curriculum.
Serve as a clinical mentor and expert resource for junior faculty and postgraduate residents, ensuring adherence to the highest clinical and ethical standards.
Participate in the college's clinical governance and quality assurance activities related to patient care.
2. Research & Scholarship Leadership
Maintain a strong, independent research program with a sustained track record of high-quality publications in peer-reviewed, indexed dental and medical journals.
Actively pursue and secure external research grants and funding, often serving as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI.
Supervise and guide postgraduate research candidates (FCPS/MDS/MPhil/PhD) through their thesis and dissertation research.
Foster collaborative research efforts within the department and with other specialties.
3. Service & Departmental Contribution
Serve on and often chair key departmental and college committees related to curriculum development, clinical services, examinations, and research ethics.
Undertake significant administrative responsibilities as assigned by the HoD or Dean (e.g., Clinical Director, Academic Coordinator, Departmental Research Head).
Participate actively in accreditation inspections (PMC) and quality improvement initiatives.
