Review the average order size of production to ensure achievement of stitching targets.
Evaluate the production targets set by PPC department and take up the discrepancies with PPC department at the beginning of the month / week.
Review the monthly / weekly production plan with the department and take feedback.
Approve the work orders for the next week for stitching.
Confirm the arrival of garment pieces and lining from cutting and PPC departments.
Approve the plan for getting materials released from the stores department.
Coordinate with maintenance department for changeovers of required machines in ideal time.
Review production short fall report and instruct necessary course of action.
Report the reasons of shortfall to the IE department, so the bottleneck can be removed and no production losses are incurred in future due to repeat same problem.
Set production targets for the next working day, accommodating the production shortfalls of the previous day.
Ensure accurate receipt of complete quantity of pieces and linings from Cutting department as per the production plan received from PPC.
Verify accuracy of documentation for the pieces received and approve them accordingly.
Ensure production is carried out as per "PPC plan". For example, for some customers there could be over shipment.
On daily basis evaluate PCR (Production Check Run) in process.
Ensure accurate machine settings through assistance from maintenance department.
Approve the stitching production after reviewing PCR report.
Ensure that PCR report is approved by the Quality department, before giving stitching production approval.
Ensure that DHU (Defects per hundred units) remains within tolerance.
Ensure all processes are being run as per defined SOPs and set quality parameters.
Ensure effective quality inspection by quality assurance department.
Ensure that the required data and output is available to quality checkers.
Review quality rejections in case of any rejections.
Guide the department in taking corrective as well as preventive action to overcome the raised objections.
Review the stitching plan to ensure maximum department efficiency.
Evaluate daily productivity and efficiency reports and make suggestions to improve Performance.
Ensure orders are stitched and ready to be released to the washing department, in minimum possible time.
Take corrective measures proactively to mitigate time loss, if any or else inform all concerned about delay at the earliest.
Evaluate utilization of pieces received from cutting department through plan vs. actual difference report.
Suggest techniques to minimize wastage stitching section.
Ensure stitching is complete within given time and forwarded to Washing & Dry processing in one go.
In case of any bottlenecks in meeting deadlines, try to come up with best possible solution to evade any production loses and beforehand inform other stakeholders also, in case the deadlines cannot be met.
