Qualification & Experience:
- 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or DBA role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or other equivalent .
- Sound working experience of designing databases for new and existing enterprise level applications while working closely with business, analysis and development teams.
- Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
- Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing and highly scalable big data’ data stores.
- Working knowledge of Application as SaaS, cloud platform, microservice architecture, containerization, multi tenancy, application/database design for multi tenant applications.
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Postgres, Cassandra, Mongodb.
- Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift will be a plus
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc. will be a plus.
- Experience of supporting day to day operational activities for the database platform like service requests and tickets, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting long-running queries, locks, deadlocks and performance issues like CPU, I/O, Memory bottlenecks, Backup and Restore, SQL jobs.

Major Duties:
Database Design:
- To design an application database in order to fulfill use case requirements
- of information persistence/access through the database.
- Database Administration:
- To handle successful and streamlined administration in order to avoid
- Deadlocks, keep servers up and monitor applications for smooth running.
- Database Scripting:
- To plan and process scripts, procedures, functions, triggers etc. in order to
- Generate automated inputs and databases.
Database Maintenance:
- To ensure local environment integrity in order to enable smooth operations
- For development, QC, staging, production and showcasing.
Data Migration:
- To align and format the data in accordance with the ETL protocol (Extract
- Transform Load) and verify in accordance with the system in order to integrate data into application.
Database Backups:
- To log the jobs & paths configured as per oracle in order to maintain and monitor backups of all jobs to revert back to or utilize in future.
Database Issue Resolution:
- To fix database issues / bugs identified by QC or the client pre or post
- Production in order to incorporate changes or start a separate DB script.
Database Release Management:
- Perform Database Sync activities in order to incorporate new features /
- Changes, maintain scripts, reflect changes in development and forward to
- QC for staging and production in parallel.
Intradepartmental Coordination:
- To coordinate with other technical departments within P&SD in order to produce the best products as per client requirements.
- Any other responsibility assigned by the Management within the scope of this job.
