We are in search of an Application Administrator.

who will be responsible for managing the software applications our Blue Yonder Practice.
In our case, Blue Yonder WMS Application, Database Servers, Version Control Systems like SVN/GIT and ability to containerize such applications.
Application Administrators are not usually involved with the development of applications; instead, they figure out what specific applications are needed to improve business operations, and then supervise the installation, upgrading and daily maintenance of software applications used by an organization.
They engage with people at all levels of an organization, and usually work as part of an IT team.
Not only can you help us connect the dots and evolve our capabilities over time, but you are also evolving your own capabilities as an engineer and keeping an eye on developments that can support our expansion – and help us implement those, too.

Duties & Responsibilities

Working in tandem with our Blue Yonder team to identify and implement the most optimal solutions for the company.
Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems.
Installing and maintaining the database server(s) and application tools
Modifying the database structure as necessary
Enrolling users and maintaining system security
Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
Planning for backup and recovery of database information
Backing up and restoring databases as needed
Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.

Technical Skills & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
Three years’ experience in at least 3 of the 4 following fields: Batch/Shell Scripting, Database Administration, DevOps and System Administration.
Experience working with Linux/UNIX.
Must have Advanced knowledge of scripting in Shell, (Batch or PowerShell).
Knowledge of system design, development, implementation, and user support principles and practices.
Experience with database management (including knowledge of SQL server, Oracle or MYSQL)
Experience with Information system troubleshooting.
Demonstrated skill in developing automated business systems.
Preferences will be given to individuals experienced in Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like Nagios XI or Zabbix.
Experienced in version control systems like SVN/GIT.
