Database Engineers help us achieve just that!
We provide Video Content Management systems to Fortune 5000 companies across the globe and is recognized in Gartner's Magic Quadrant. Our developed systems empower our customers to deliver Live as well as On-Demand Video Streaming to their audience, store and share multimedia content as well as perform Video and Audio Analysis using Machine Learning.
Database Engineers are concerned with architecture, designing, and developing the persistent data layer that empowers middleware. They are challenged with optimized storage and super-fast retrieval of a large amounts of unstructured and structured data, extracted from video using ML pipeline. They have to ensure the developed data layer can support multi-tenant architecture, can be used in SaaS and Private Cloud as well as on Prem scenarios, and can adhere to the strict requirements of high availability, scalability, and security that customers need. All of this and more, make it a challenging feat, to say the least. The technology stack includes relational databases such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, etc. as well as non-relational like Mongo and Cassandra.
Job Description:
- Design, Develop and Implement persistence layer, logical and physical data models, that empower VIDIZMO
- Work with Product Analyst and Back-end Engineers to enable and support various product features
- Write/design database objects such as stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, views etc.
- Ensure database optimization, integrity, consistency, security and privacy of data
- Write script to create database objects, for data migration and schema upgrade
- Securing and ensuring the persistence layer is scalable, elastic and can support millions of concurrent transactions
- Perform unit, integration testing of developed modules and systems as well as participate in weekly bug bash activity
- Perform Peer code reviews to improve code quality
- Follow and enforce SCRUM/Agile practices as well as work with Product Manager, maintaining product and spring backlog
- Propose and participate in adoption of new technologies and trends
Essential Skills:
- Must have worked with at least one Relational DBMS such as SQL Server, Azure SQL or Oracle
- Must be proficient and expert with T/SQL or PL/SQL and ORMs
- Must have strong database concepts including collation, concurrency control/locking, indexing, sharding, multi-tenancy etc.
- Well versed and proficient writing optimized queries
Preferred Skills:
- Worked with NO SQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra etc.
- Worked with Search system such as Lucene, Solr, Elastic Search etc.
- Worked with time series or data stream processing and analysis
- Have worked with backend technology such as .NET or Java or Python
Required Qualification:
- BS/BSc or above in Computer Science
- Experience of 5+ years required in Database development
- Can work independently and have a go-getter attitude
- Good English language verbal and writing communication skills
- Authorized to work legally
