Software Engineer II - Backend | NextGen Engineering

The NextGen Programme focuses on cultivating engineers skilled in clean coding, SOLID principles, and designing reliable systems across various domains such as Backend, Frontend, Web, Mobile, Data Analysis, MLOps, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and QA. Software Engineers joining this team will work on distributed backend systems with an emphasis on scalability and continuous development, collaborating with top talent on cutting-edge projects and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain distributed backend systems that meet high standards for functionality, scalability, and reliability in a fast-growing business environment.
- Uphold rigorous code quality, maintainability, readability, and testing standards across all features and systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and designers to address complex challenges across the platform.
- Act as an integral member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.
- Continuously document and refine engineering practices to support large-scale systems handling everything from user requests to payment processing.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Strong grasp of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and write clean, maintainable code with a genuine passion for coding.
- Effective communication skills, capable of clearly articulating technical challenges and solutions.
- Adaptability to work with loosely defined problems and rapidly evolving requirements, paired with strong abstract thinking skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning of new technologies and contributing to products with large-scale impact.
- Keen attention to detail and dedication to delivering high-quality code.
