About the Position!
We are seeking an Application Security Engineer to join our Security and Compliance Team in our Lahore Office.
- As an application security engineer in the company, you will be working in a fast-paced SaaS environment where code change happens at a rapid speed and where it is paramount to control security testing into a continuous deployment/integration flow.
Job Role and Duties:
- Play a lead role in developing and designing application-level security controls and standards.
- Perform application security design reviews against new products and services.
- Track and prioritize all security issues.
- Performs static/dynamic code testing, manual code inspection, threat modeling, design reviews and penetration testing of internal web applications and external partner applications to identify vulnerabilities and security defects.
- Perform on-going security testing and code review to improve software security.
- Perform application security vulnerability management.
- Facilitate and support the preparation of security releases.
- Support and consult with product and development teams in the area of application security.
- Assist in development of automated security testing to validate that secure coding best practices are being used.
- Build the security development training program to train developers on secure coding practices.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Up to 2 years of experience in performing penetration testing, secure code review, static, dynamic and manual source code review.
- Experience in identifying and remediating common web application vulnerabilities such as OWASP Top 10.
- Experience in use of various commercial and open-source penetration testing tools and methodologies and performing penetration testing of web applications and operating systems.
- Experience with various code repositories including GitHub and Apache Subversion (SVN)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, edge devices, IoT, KPIs and analytics, and similar concepts
- Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset
Working Hours and Schedule:
- 40 plus hours per week - Must be willing to work overlapping hours as needed
- Monday to Friday
