About the Position!
We are seeking a Senior Software Technical Writer to join our Technical Project Management Team in our Lahore Office.
As a technical writer in the software group, you will be responsible for creating world-class documentation and training material for internal and external audience.
You will work closely with distributed development teams throughout the software development lifecycle to create reliable, clear, and concise content. You must have a passion for working with engineering teams on highly technical products and making information available to internal and external customers in innovative and engaging ways
What will you do?
Job Role and Duties:
- Build strong partnerships with software engineers, product managers, and other experts and stakeholders
- Conduct need analysis sessions to determine the appropriate depth and breadth of content
- Research and build knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions for greatest reader comprehension and writes and edits technical information accordingly
- Prepare or commission graphics and illustrations to elaborate or complement technical writing
- Meet with subject matter experts in order to ensure that specialised topics are appropriately addressed and discussed
- Collaborate with translators as necessary to convert writing into a variety of languages
- Work with Support and QA colleagues to ensure that the finished documentation meets product requirements
- Revise, edit, or update instructions, technical information, and frequently asked questions as necessary
- Create, adapt, and follow project schedules and deadlines
- Specialize in technical writing for software industries
- Remain up-to-date on technological and product developments as well as universal specifications relevant to industry
What are we looking for?
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in preparing technical and user documentation for software applications.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Professional Writing, Engineering, or Computer science
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with technical products (hardware and or software)
- Exceptional writing skills to produce effective technical content for an engineering audience
- Proven ability to plan and deliver work within an agile development process
- Proficiency with content authoring, publishing, and multimedia development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, edge devices, IoT, KPIs and analytics, and similar concepts
- Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset
About Schedule!
Working Hours and Schedule:
- 40 plus hours per week - Must be willing to work overlapping hours as needed
- Monday to Friday
