The Assistant Manager – Accounts is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting and audits. This role assists in budgeting, reconciliations, and statutory compliance while supervising junior accountants and maintaining the integrity of financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting• Prepare and review journal entries, ledgers, and trial balances.• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.• Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate financial reports.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable• Oversee vendor payments, invoice processing, and reconciliation.• Manage customer billing, collections, and aging analysis.• Ensure proper documentation and approval for all transactions.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting• Support preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.• Track budget variances and provide analysis for management review.• Assist in cost control initiatives and financial performance monitoring.
4. Audit & Compliance• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for periodic audits.• Ensure timely filing of statutory returns (GST, Income Tax, etc.).• Maintain proper documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
5. Team Supervision & Process Improvement• Supervise and train junior accountants and finance staff.• Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls.• Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance (Master’s preferred).
Professional certification (CA / CMA / CPA / ACCA) is an advantage.
4–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
