The Role: Senior Software Developer, Big Data & Ingestion

This team comes together across eight different locations every single day to craft enterprise grade applications that serve a large customer base with growing demand and usage. You will use a wide range of technologies and cultivate a collaborative environment with other internal teams.

The Impact: As a Senior Lead with the Product Development team, you will be responsible for providing backend support to our enterprise feed platforms. Together, you will build scalable and robust solutions using AGILE development methodologies with a focus on high availability to end users. You will actively be participating in the design, development, testing and support of the platform.

Responsibilities:

• Be part of an agile team that designs, develops, and maintains the enterprise feed systems and other related software applications
• Participate in design sessions for new product features and capabilities
• Produce technical design documents and participate in technical walk-throughs.
• Engineer components and common services based on standard corporate development models, languages and tools.
• Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical partners.
• Support and maintain production environments

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering.
• 3+ years of significant experience in designing efficient and robust ETL workflows.
• Experience working in cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Experience with large scale messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ or commercial systems.
• Experience with an Object Oriented Programming languages like C#, Java, Scala or Python
• Experience with Big Data platforms such as Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of writing complex and efficient SQL for relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server is essential. Experience with NoSQL database systems.
• Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-oriented development.
• Knowledge of system architecture, object-oriented design, and design patterns that scale and are performant.
• Understanding of product versioning, packaging and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cassandra, dynamo db, or postgres
• Experience with AWS Glue or other AWS ETL offerings
• Experience mentoring and leading a team of software developers
