The Area Sales Manager is responsible for making sure sales targets are met within the designated sales area or territory. 

Area Sales Managers develop a close relationship with all their major accounts to grow business organically and find new business.  Area Sales Managers are experts in understanding their products, market area, trends, opportunities and competitive activity.

  • Maintaining and increasing sales of your company's products
  • Reaching the targets and goals set for your area
  • Establishing, maintaining and expanding your customer base
  • Servicing the needs of your existing customers
  • Increasing business opportunities through market share various routes to market
  • Setting sales targets for individually  your team as a whole
  • Recruiting and training sales staff 
  • Allocating areas to sales representatives
  • Developing sales strategies and setting targets
  • Monitoring your team's performance and motivating them to reach targets
  • Compiling and analyzing sales figures
  • Possibly dealing with some major customer accounts yourself
  • Collecting customer feedback and market research
  • Reporting to senior managers
  • Keeping up to date with products and monitoring competitors activity
  • Distribution management
  • Good command over planning for primary & secondary sale
  • Managing stock uplifting & market display

Skills

  • Experience in sales with a successful track record
  • Excellent presentation & communication Skills
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities
  • Having sector-specific sales experience
  • Proficiency in common sales and data management software
  • Ability to perform significant overnight travel
