Senior Import Officer

Location: Near N.C.A Lahore
Job Type: Contract (Minimum 1 Year)
Salary: PKR 55,000 – 65,000 per month
Star Dyes is looking for a professional and experienced Senior Import Officer to join our office team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in accounting, hands-on accounting software experience, and practical knowledge of sales tax and import-related documentation and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks
- Ledger maintenance and reconciliation
- Bill entries and voucher entries
- Accounting software data entry (Fast Accounts preferred)
- Preparation and management of financial records
- Sales tax-related documentation and record handling
- Import-related accounting documentation and process coordination
- Maintaining accuracy and confidentiality of company financial data
Preferred Expertise Priority:
- Accounts & bookkeeping operations
- Financial record management
- Import-related documentation and procedures
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, especially Fast Accounts
- Strong understanding of:
- Financial accounting
- Ledger management
- Sales tax procedures
- Import documentation and related processes
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, mature, and responsible attitude
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel and reporting work
Work Environment:
This position is within a department currently managed by an experienced office team, operating in a professional, respectful, and well-coordinated workplace environment.
Working Hours:
Monday to Saturday
10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all import-related processes to ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
- Prepare, verify, and manage import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Coordinate with logistics teams, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to facilitate smooth and timely shipment clearance and delivery.
- Maintain and update financial records related to import transactions, ensuring accuracy in accounts and bookkeeping operations.
- Utilize accounting software, particularly Fast Accounts, to manage and record all financial entries related to import activities.
- Conduct thorough analysis and management of trade policies affecting import procedures to mitigate risks and optimize operations.
- Oversee sales tax procedures and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations associated with imports.
- Monitor and manage ledger entries to ensure detailed and accurate financial reporting.
- Generate detailed reports and Excel-based analyses to support senior management decision-making.
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of two import staff, ensuring productivity, compliance, and professional growth.
- Collaborate across departments including finance, supply chain, and procurement to improve import workflow and resolve any operational obstacles.
- Maintain strong communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and efficiency in import transactions.
- Stay updated on changes and updates to international trade policies and regulations to maintain compliance and competitive advantage.
