The role of the Psychologist/Counselor includes the following responsibilities:
Conduct one-to-one/ group counseling sessions with special children and their parents to promote healthy behaviors towards their children.
Able to discuss different social evils/ myths prevailing in the targeted community.
Assess children and parents through detailed conversations, interviews, and observations to determine the appropriate counseling sessions.
Conduct networking meetings to track available resources, volunteers, psychologists, and doctors.
Conduct psychometric testing of special children referred by field team for enrollment in schools and other relevant institutions.
Psychologist/Counselor will closely work with visiting doctors, physiotherapist to help manage psychological aspects of chronic and acute medical conditions.
Conduct training of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
Develop child-friendly handouts to conduct counseling sessions.
Maintain a positive working relationship with other staff of the project.
