The primary role of a College Counselor is to assist third- and fourth-year high school students with  information, advice, support and processing of applications seeking placement in Universities and Colleges abroad. College Counsellor is responsible for supporting the achievement of branch performance targets. The counsellor will also provide support and referral for students with issues other than placement, ultimately ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service.

 

  • Counsel and advise prospective students to identify appropriate study options including suitable courses, at select Universities and Colleges keeping in view of a long term career objectivity

  • Schedule and hold meetings with students and parents, to accurately convey research on courses and programs available, whilst ensuring that each students’ needs are being met. Advise students with respect to admissions requirement, processes and qualification options

  • Support the student through the admissions, visa and pre-departure processes.

  • Assist in all forms of documentations and interview preparations

  • Review and authorise documents to be submitted to Admissions and Visa department for processing

  • Have strong relationship with students and their parents to accurately reflect and endure that Success Factor is regarded as a trusted advisor and highly professional.

  • Deliver outstanding and exceptional service to ensure a high number of student conversions and a developing referral base for future business.

  • Assist mentors in meeting Registrations targets

  • Meet Processing and Payment targets while maintaining conversion ratios

  • Maintain Ethical conduct, integrity and accountability of the highest level, in every interaction with students and their families, clients and colleagues

  • Develop research habits and write weekly/monthly journals on latest developments in the higher education sector to share with colleagues and publish

  • Identify opportunities to generate leads and effectively leverage these opportunities. e.g. determine the prospective schools, universities, companies and scholarship bodies from where new leads can be derived and established effective relationships with them.

  • Ability to adapt to a client management platform/system which may be used to support the end to end process, including follow up of all leads and opportunities to close sales. 

  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely and accurate fashion (email, phone, face to face)

  • Travel to Universities and Colleges abroad to support the development of knowledge of institutions and establish relationships with key contacts. 

  • Provide input on marketing or promotional activities to encourage student numbers

  • Provide regular updates to the line manager to inform them of progress, challenges and/or support that may be required.
