As a Tier 2 System Support Engineer, you will be responsible for handling escalated technical issues and supporting complex IT infrastructure tasks to ensure optimal system availability and performance. This role requires advanced technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and effective collaboration with senior IT teams. You will be instrumental in maintaining system stability, addressing both user and system-related challenges, and ensuring smooth operation of critical IT services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide second-level support for system, network, and application-related issues. Troubleshoot escalated incidents promptly to minimize downtime and ensure timely resolution. Manage system updates, patches, and continuously monitor overall system performance to maintain reliability. Support core services such as Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, email servers, and user access control. Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring problems and recommend sustainable long-term solutions. Work closely with Tier 3 and Engineering teams to resolve advanced technical challenges. Maintain and regularly update IT documentation and the internal knowledge base to enhance team efficiency and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is essential. Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in IT, system, or network support roles. Strong troubleshooting skills in both Windows and Linux server environments are required. A solid understanding of networking concepts including LAN, WAN, firewalls, and VPNs is necessary. Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy management, and Office 365 administration is expected. Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and documentation skills are crucial for success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V is an advantage. This is a full-time position offering a competitive monthly salary range of Rs 200,000 to Rs 250,000. The role requires on-site presence, with the work location based in Bagh, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK). Candidates should be willing to relocate if selected. Immediate availability to start is preferred.
