- Oversee the functions of Records, Examinations and University Affairs Departments; these departments shall work per their TORs.
- Be one of the signatory on Transcripts and Pass Certificates, produced by all campuses. All official letters to the regulatory bodies, national and international agencies/universities etc. shall go with the signature of Registrar. An official correspondence of high significance will be made with prior approval of VP Academics and President SZABIST
- Act as “Secretary BASR”.
- Maintain the records of all AC-Heads, BoS, BoF, BASR and Academic Council’s agenda items and MoMs and shall track, follow-up the decisions for implementation taken in all statuary bodies and shall report to the VP (Academics) and the President.
- Provide full cooperation to IR/QEC, the department which will undertake the “Examination Audit” at the completion of every semester according to prescribed SOPs (to be provided by VP-Academics).
- Resolve the credit transfer issues, if any, in the transfer cases of students related to inter campus, intra campus and from outside universities, in consultation with the relevant HoD and Admission Department.
- Immediately report to VP (Academics) in case of any fake document reported.
- Handle the verification issues related to degrees, transcripts, etc. pertaining to attestation of degrees by HEC.
- Make the “unfair means” committee for every midterm and final examinations for Karachi Campus in consultation with Sr. Controller Examinations and develop the SOP for the said committee.
- Ensure that all SZABIST campuses constitute “unfair means” committee for every midterm and final examinations and follow the required SOP.
- Give the approvals of retake exams on case to case basis.
- Approve the lists of Gold & Silver Medalists and also Chancellor’s Honor Lists, in consultation with VP (Academics).
- Place an order for Degrees, Pass Certificates and Transcript Papers to PSPC in a timely manner on the advice of the Sr. Records Controller.
- Chair the convocation committee, oversee its functions and ensure that the convocation at each campus is properly organized and successfully held.
- Lead the convocation procession.
- Propose new IT tools, ensure that documents of records and examination are digitized according to a plan approved by VP (Academics).
- Propose improvements in the exiting systems to the VP (Academics).
- Work on any additional assignment given by VP (Academics) or any higher authority.
