Keep track of outstanding and recoverable debts.
Plan course of action to recover and develop strategies to recover debts.
Locate physical residence and contact of debtors.
Negotiate payoff deadlines and payment plans with approval from Recovery Manager.
Identify gaps in the system and recommend solutions.
Update account status and database regularly.
Responsible for ensuring attainment of targeted early collection rates.
Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable.
Must ensure that the statistical reports are at their desks with action plan for every non- performing loan.
Provide regular and timely collection updates/reports.
Collections officers attempt to locate and contact clients, primarily over the phone, in order to talk with them about their debts.
This includes calling customers at home, at work, and on their cellular phones.
Collections officers speak to customers to negotiate payment plans and payment schedules that suit their current financial situation while still satisfying the debt.
Collections officers advise customers on their various payment options.
If no payment agreement can be reached, collections officers inform customers of further actions that may be taken to collect overdue debts.
