The Project Manager performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
1. Build constructive business relationships with senior business stakeholders and ensure project support and commitment.
2. Conduct Cost benefit analysis on project feasibility.
3. Identify project vision, objectives and risks.
4. Define project scope, deliverables and roles and responsibilities in collaboration with stakeholders and business partners.
5. Identify, analyze and prioritize project risks and impact of risks on the project.
6. Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or enhanced applications.
7. Knowledge of formal methodologies for planning and executing application development, enhancement or support.
8. Revise Project Plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
9. Design and implement processes to monitor and control resources, budget, risks and quality.
10. Monitor and control change requests and determine feasibility of change requests and downstream impact. Manage approval process for change requests.
11. Manage project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
12. Manage all project related documentation like proposals, progress reports, requirements documentation and presentations.
13. Plan client handover of the project and related training.
14. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
15. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

Engineering, execution, completion and services:
Plan the project
1. Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management
2. Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
3. Determine the resources (time, money, equipment etc.) required to complete the project
4. Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
5. Review the project schedule with senior management, client and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
6. Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
7. Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
8. Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
9. Develop BOQs for projects with project team. Should be able to read mechanical, electric and civil drawins to determine required quantities of material.
Staff the project
1. In consultation with the appropriate manager, recruit, interview and select staff and/or volunteers with appropriate skills for the project activities
2. Manage project staff and/or volunteers according to the established policies and practices of the organization
3. Ensure that personnel files are properly maintained and kept confidential at all times
4. Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project
5. Contract qualified consultants and sub-contractors to work on the project as appropriate
Implement the project
1. Execute the project according to the project plan
2. Develop forms and records to document project activities in a timely manner
3. Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
4. Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
5. Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
6. Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
Control the project
1. Write reports on the project for management and customers in a timely manner
2. Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
3. Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (fortnightly/monthly)
4. Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
5. Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
Evaluate the project
1. Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
2. Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
Sales Support:
1. Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximising client potential in designated regions.
2. Developing long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements.
3. Persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery.
4. Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
5. Working on after-sales support services and providing technical back up as required.
6. Arranging and carrying out product training;
7. Preparing reports for head office and keeping customer records;
8. Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
9. Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs.
10. Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts.
11. Providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales team.
