Job Title: Android Developer
Location: Blue Area, Islamabad
Client/Team: The position is for a team that is working with an extremely fast-paced US-based startup in the Ad-tech industry.
Job Purpose: To develop, maintain and grow our Client’s app for Android devices, and to work with all stakeholders and implement their feedback in order to create the best user experience for the Client’s customers. This position is part of our Client’s core development team. The developer will engage in the implementation of the entire lifecycle of the app for the Android platform.

Client’s existing team - Founders, Designers, Operations, Product Managers
Android Team Lead
Other members of the Android Team (About 3-6 developers)
- Other members of the Development team (About 3-6 developers)
Development Team: The Android development team for this client consists of 3-6 developers at any given time. There is a web team as well of about 3-6 developers, which focusses on other aspects of the client's platform.

This position offers a lot of learning and growth but requires a nimble-minded individual.
Duties & Responsibilities
Engaging the development of our Client’s app for the Android platform
Working closely with Android and web developers on the team to ensure a seamless experience across all platforms
Working closely with designers to achieve the best experience design
Working with the Founding team of the Client to implement their vision for the app
To ensure timely achievement of development goals.
Enforce and improve software development best practices
To recommend new features and ideas that may be implemented in the apps
To test and deploy the app
Skills and Experience
- Experience with Kotlin
- Strong Android development experience
- Strong sense of UX principles and a deep understanding of Google’s Material Design Guidelines
Familiarity with the use of Android development and deployment tools
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum
Strong understanding of Unit Tests and Test Driven Development
Strong Communication Skills
Experience with Git
Experience with web service integration (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML)
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Strong coding ethics
Additional Desirable Skills
Familiarity with MBaaSs such as Firebase
Familiarity with tools/platforms such as Docker, Jenkins, Codeship etc
Past experience with Media libraries in Android
- Experience with CLEAN architecture and MVVM

The hiring process
The hiring process consists of the following steps after CV screening:
- 1-7 days after applying: Collection of personal details - You'll be sent a form to fill out which allows us to screen you further and gives both you and the company the chance to ask questions to be sure of a fit.
- 1-2 days after the previous step: Android Test - You are given a coding assignment to do (which takes about 3 to 4 hours to do, you are given up to 2 days to finish).
- 1-4 days after the previous Step: Test Evaluation and Interview - You demo your implementation and have a formal interview with us.
- 1-3 days Offer Letter, and on-boarding
Please note that most steps can happen remotely or in-office, you are only required to be present in the office for the final steps.
