PART 1 – JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB OVERVIEW 

Field supervisor will be responsible to supervise field operations day-to-day by leading the Social mobilization team. He / She will be responsible to develop regular and weekly field plans under the line management of Networking & Liaison Officer. Field Supervisor must ensure efficient, effective, timely, impact-oriented & sustained social mobilization of the target community under the UKAM Project.    

POSITION IN ORGANISATION 

  • Grade: B3
  • Reports to the Networking & Liaison Officer 
  • Coordinates closely with the project team members as and when required
  • Interacts and shares learning and information with relevant team members at the Tearfund

ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

CORPORATE POLICIES, MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND PROCEDURES 

  • Undertake all activities in accordance with internal management systems, operating procedures/policies and programmatic protocols; support project team and organizational efforts to ensure compliance
  • The position holder will be expected to adhere to Tearfund’s Quality Standards as and when required 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY 

  • Under the line management of the Networking & Liaison Officer,  Field Supervisor will overall lead the social mobilization activities at community level in accordance with the culture and norms of the target population. 
  • Ensure stakeholder mapping exercise and engagement plan with support of the line manager.
  • To arrange and organize the meetings, training sessions and follow-up sessions. 
  • Develop effective relationships with relevant community representatives, Key influencers /members necessary to ensure the successful delivery of the project’s community mobilization output
  • Provide support to Line Manager in developing the quarterly social mobilization plan. 
  • Ensure the availability and management of key resources required to develop and implement the social mobilization plan.
  • Provide regular updates to the line manager about daily activities through field visit reports, work plans and proper documentation. 
  • Develop scope of work which includes social mobilization activity objectives, methodology, agenda and budget. 
  • Maintain an accurate reporting and proper record/data management of household sessions
  • Ensure household session’s data is timely provided to line manager 
  • Ensure robust monitoring and timely corrective action with regards to the outworking of the project’s social mobilization plan
  • Build close partnership with the community influential and other stakeholders through regular meetings with them on appropriate intervals
  • Report daily activities, incidents and achievements
  • Proactively identify issues and take ownership through to resolution
  • Ensure timesheets, Staff leave record and tracking  and other paperwork are issued accurately and in a timely manner
  • Any other responsibility assigned by the line manager

TEAM PARTICIPATION 

  • As part of the project team, support and promote effective teamwork and commitment to Tearfund’s Core Values and Quality Standards  

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS / REPRESENTATION 

  • Participate in project activities and events as and when directed by line manager and represent Tearfund in these said occasions
  • Participate in workshops/trainings/events organized by the Country Office and UK office 
  • Provide support to line Manager and Stakeholder & Community Engagement Coordinator where appropriate in representing Tearfund to other INGOs, NGOs, government departments, government agencies, partners, associates, affiliates and other relevant stakeholders and ensure coordination and constructive working relations with the same
