Tekkdev is seeking a Junior MERN Stack Developer to join its dynamic and fast-paced development team based in Gulberg 3. This position focuses primarily on candidates with up to 1.5 years of experience, including fresh graduates and those with internship exposure. The role emphasizes the development of both frontend and backend components using the MERN stack, specifically React.js, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB. The candidate should demonstrate a strong foundational understanding of web application architecture, asynchronous programming, and RESTful API development. While technical skills are important, equal weight is placed on attitude, accountability, eagerness to learn, and the ability to work well under senior mentorship.
The developer will work onsite from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm and will be responsible for coding robust, maintainable features that integrate seamlessly across the frontend and backend. Attention to detail, clear communication, and the capability to independently navigate existing codebases are vital. The role demands consistent application of best practices such as version control using Git, code review participation, and proactive handling of blockers within assigned timelines. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain user-facing features using React.js by creating components, managing state, and applying hooks.
- Build and style UI components with effective use of CSS to ensure responsiveness and usability.
- Design and implement server-side logic using Node.js and Express.js, adhering to RESTful API design principles.
- Create and manage MongoDB schemas with Mongoose and perform CRUD operations efficiently.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to understand and improve existing codebases.
- Use Git for version control, including committing code changes, branching strategies, and submitting pull requests.
- Ensure code quality by following established standards and thoroughly testing components before submission.
- Effectively document implementation details and explain design choices during team briefings and code reviews.
- Actively seek feedback and apply it constructively to enhance code quality and personal growth.
- Communicate blockers and challenges promptly to senior developers and project managers to maintain project timelines.
- Demonstrate accountability by independently researching solutions before escalating issues to the team.
- Apply asynchronous programming techniques to handle API calls and data fetching efficiently.
- Maintain clear separation of concerns within the codebase to differentiate controllers, services, and middleware functionalities.
- Collaborate closely with senior mentors to receive guidance and continually improve technical and professional skills.
