- Develop, design and maintain highly available and scalable databases using SQLServer and other Database technologies
- Work closely with the development and product management teams to design and deliver reliable and consistent database services
- Work closely with developers on database choice, schema design, ERD, and query tuning.
- Design and develop efficient stored procedures
- Optimize Database space management
- Backup the database Daily/Weekly/Monthly as required
- Coordinate and execute data backup, archive and restore requests
- Create and manage quality documents as needed (including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata))
- Publish periodic metrics highlighting our database usage and health
- Use/Develop database automation tools to automate existing database tasks
- Document system design and procedures
- Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users
- Installing and testing new versions of the DBMS
- Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
