JOB SUMMARY (Overall purpose of the job):

Clinical psychologists will work with individuals, including children, adolescents and adults, as well as families, and groups in a range of settings. Assess through a range of techniques and provide a treatment plan that may include counselling or therapy with a range of mental health issues, conditions and disorders.Liaise with other professionals such as psychiatrists, community workers and health systems in order to deal with your clients' complex issues.

Routine Tasks:

  • Conduct regular consulting clinics.
  • Conduct regular Intake interview and assessment
  • Conduct psychotherapeutic/counselling sessions treatments or medications to treat mental disorders
  • Gather and maintain patient information and records, including bio-psycho-social history obtained from patients, and their family members.
  • Design individualized treatment plans, using a variety of treatment approaches
  • psychological services assess and help patients with psychological problems of all types and levels of severity, including:
  1. anxiety, including,generalized anxiety states, phobias and panic attacks
  2. depression, mildto severe level
  3. trauma and stress related disorder
  4. sexual dysfunctions
  5. alcohol and drug-related problems
  6. personality disorders
  7. psychotic disorders
  8. Neurodevelopmental disorder
  9. deliberate self-harm
  • Provide Psychotherapy for individuals, families and groups
  • Consultation, supervision and staff support
  • Psychoeducation
  • Research and survey

Position Specification (Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience):

Education:

Academic/ Professional Qualification:

Minimum M.Sc./M.A in Psychology preference will be given to candidates having M.Phil. in clinical psychology and Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology, and M.S in Clinical psychology

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a palliative care unit of a hospital.
