JOB SCOPE

  • The HR Project Specialist will provide analytical, design and project assistance  in support of the agency’s field entities. 
  • In this capacity, s/he will work closely with the Head of HR in the development and implementation of human resource projects that will help to meet the demands of both agencies.
  • Projects will cover the broad spectrum of HR topics including analysis and data reporting , capacity building in core HR processes such as compensation, talent development and recruitment, diversity and inclusion.
  • Work will be carried out collaboratively with the field entities engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Design of project communication  is required to help the field entities, with a focus on driving forward projects agreed with the CEO’s

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Support the data analytics and quality control of monthly and quarterly HR reporting
  • Provide support for the virtual learning project by following up with curriculum coordinators and providing support to the team.
  • Develop consistent communication and coordination with the field entities on key assigned projects.
  • Maintain updated records on job grading working with the field entities
  • Develop tools for HR and managers on key HR processes to help build capacity and competence in the field and to support the growth of the agency.
  • To provide the technical process support  of the on line platform to Heads of HR for the performance development process
  • Responsible to maintain accurate and updated database for key population employment contracts to support the core HR processes.
  • To research best practices of key HR processes, develop and suggest design modifications working closely with the field entities to support building capability within the managerial cadre of employees as well as HR.
  • Provide leadership in the area of recruitment to support field entities to develop expertise in and support Heads of HR in field entities when required.
  • Provide super user support through LinkedIn, work with the AKDN Career Centre website and local HR to ensure posting of all key positions for the key population.
  • Handle follow up and updates on status of recruitment through the Career Centre.
  • Conduct reference checks when required

SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)

Education: Preferably Masters degree in Human Resources, MBA or related field.

  • Excellent problem solver and ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Significant practical experience of managing core HR processes in particular compensation, talent management and recruitment.
  • Very strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • High integrity and ability to balance competing demands.
  • Ability to take initiative and to be pro-active.
  • Customer oriented with a strong service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ideally French. Another central Asian or East African language is a plus.

Experience:  Experience in the private and ideally not for profit sector and/or experience as a consultant.

Minimum 8- 10 years of experience in human resources, in an international environment.

Technical Skills: Compensation grading, vendor management, policy work, communication , project management including managing budgets across multiple geographies ; Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

   Other Skills: Willingness to travel as required to Central Asia /Africa, India, South Asia 10%. Able to speak one of the local languages in South Asia.
