Brooke Pakistan is a non-profit public limited (by guarantee) company established under section 42 of companies’ ordinance functioning in Punjab, Sindh & KPK to improve the lives of working equine animals (Horse, Donkey & Mule). We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacant position of “Community Development Manager” at Lahore.

Purpose:

The individual will support Brooke Pakistan’s field teams to implement the community development (CD) strategy by empowering local communities, building partnerships and helping to strengthen local structures and services, with a focus on inclusion of women. The individual will represent Brooke Pakistan on global community development projects and play an active role in exchanging learning and supporting other community development teams across Brooke globally as required.

Qualification, Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology and anthropology   and other relevant degrees.
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years’ field experience in community development work.
  • Proven track record of conducting and facilitating community development training.
  • Proven practical experience in implementing participatory methods and tools in all stages of the project cycle.
  • Experience of adopting CD and participatory approaches ‘in the field’ to engage communities effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience and professional knowledge in the design, implementation and management of gender sensitive livelihoods programmes in an international development context

Desirable Competencies

  • Project proposal and design with excellent writing skills
  • Coaching and conflict resolution to resolving issues with stakeholders.
  • Excellent facilitation and information management skills with ability to write reports for a variety of audiences in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and willing to work with people from a range of backgrounds.
  • Excellent organization, planning and follow up skills. With the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work with range of partners to take forward organizational agenda.
  • Proven ability to inspire and influence people using multiple approaches resulting in positive behavioral change and capturing it in writing for course correction through Most Significant
  • Change (MSC)
  • Ability to initiate and strengthen livelihood and resilience of the communities through partnership with other organizations
