The Assistant Manager Accounts is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, and assisting in budget preparation. The role ensures that all accounting transactions are recorded timely and correctly in accordance with standard accounting practices. The successful candidate works closely with auditors and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth audit processes. The position requires a proactive approach to solving accounting issues and improving financial workflows within the company, aligning financial activities with Trafco Insurance Company Limiteds strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records for the company, including ledgers, journals, and balance sheets.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely submission of financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts to support business planning.
- Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations to external and internal auditors.
- Monitor compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial procedures and reporting mechanisms.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Ensure the accurate processing of payroll and related accounting functions.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare tax filings and other statutory reports.
- Assist senior management in financial decision-making by providing detailed analysis and reporting.
- Remain current with changes in accounting standards and legislation relevant to the company.
