Job Position: Lead - Architect Python Engineer
Primary Responsibilities
- Design complete software solutions combining multiple systems and services
- Mentor less experienced engineers in software best practice and provide code reviews on changes
- Create web services using Flask and AWS Lambda
- Assist risk and operations team with data modeling and database integrations
- Integrate with government and partner institutions through REST API calls
- Create scripts and services to automate manual tasks (e.g. document generation)
- Create automated unit and integration tests to ensure quality
- Define monitoring parameters to ensure visibility into production performance
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer focused on python
- Automated testing with pytest
- Microservices with Flask
- Version control with git or equivalent including pull requests and gated check-ins
- Interfacing with databases such as MySQL
- Cloud architecture experience (e.g. AWS)
- Familiarity with microservices and Docker
- JSON REST API integrations
- Strong written, verbal and organizational skills (English)
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Odoo customization
- Serverless architectures (e.g. AWS Lambda)
- Data engineering and anlysis
- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript
- Desire to contribute to open source and a company engineering blog
