Job Description:
The Software Development Lead will be expected to understand complex computer science concepts, execute research and come up with strategies to solve the problems & lead the team in implementing these solutions.
Responsible for keeping up to date on latest industry software development innovations and leveraging these to improve the products we develop.
Responsible for establishing software development processes within the department that ensures quality and predictability of the outputs from the team. The processes would define:
- Standard roles and conventions for Agile Software development
- Source Control tools and strategies
- Coding Standards
- Release Management Strategy including key checkpoints (e.g. coding reviews, deployment readiness reviews etc.)
- Continuous Integration process
- QA Strategy
- Support Project Manager in resource estimations
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Knowledge and Skills:
- 6+ years software development experience
- 4+ years experience in one of more of the following languages: Java, Spring, Elasticsearch, SQL, Apache Kafka, Redis
- 2+ years experience in managing software development teams in an Agile environment with mixed skill sets (e.g. backend, front-end developers etc)
- 2+ years experience in a software architect role
- Experience with designing RESTful API's
