  • Plan and organize sports and events, manage tours and trips and ensure participation of UMT clubs, societies and teams at local, provincial and national/international level events
  • Bolster the effectiveness and awareness of clubs, societies and sports activities to increase student participation Responsible for identifying and managing new avenues for sponsorships and resource mobilization for OPA
  • Host local, provincial and national/international level sporting events at UMT
  • Develop and Execute the OPA business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders
  • Provide strategic advice to the Board, Chairperson and the Rector of UMT so that they will have accurate view of the market and the OPA’S future
  • Ensure that all implemented activities are relevant to the mission and vision of the UMT.
  • Ensure UMT’s policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the OPA department and that they are followed at all times
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and UMT authorities and will also liaison with the heads of Alumina, schools and colleges.
  • Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of executives providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
  • Read all submitted reports, to reward performance, prevent issues and resolve problems.
