Position Summary:
The responsibilities of personnel manager revolve around the recruitment, especially in blue color positions, placing and orienting new employees, overseeing current employee satisfaction and productivity, ensuring that the workplace is always running efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identification of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensuring that policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Studying legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends
- Recruitment, interviews, tests, and selecting employees to fill vacant positions
- Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan
- Planning and conducting new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organization goals
- Keeping records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
- Administering benefit programs such as life, health, and pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
- Conducting wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
- Preparing budget of human resources operations
- Representing organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
