UI / UX Designer

The UI/UX designer job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics.

Responsibilites

• Working closely with product managers to figure out feature requirements
• Working closely with engineers to understand technical constraints that inform design
• Participating in group design feedback sessions with designers, product managers, and engineers
• Working quickly to create and execute designs for new features as we scale the products
• Lead by example within the design team to build repeatable design processes
• Indirect management and mentorship of 1-2 designers.
• Capable of gauging technical feasibility of the prototype.
• Prepares low fidelity prototypes of sites/features (ranging from paper-and-pencil concepts to wireframes or interactive prototypes) for internal review and brain storming.
• Overall responsibility for understanding a customer's brief and converting that into appealing, highly usable interfaces.
• Ensure projects adhere to corporate branding hierarchy and style guides
• Presents high fidelity designs/mock-ups to the customer for review/iteration/approval.
• Able to explain his/her design philosophy verbally and in writing.
• Study design briefs and determine requirements
• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Amend designs after feedback
• Fulfill digital graphics needs for websites, digital media and presentations
• Assist in production of marketing literature, collateral, advertising and other Digital/ print design projects
• Optimize photography for use across all marketing channels - print, digital, web, social media

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, Digital Design or related design field
• 3+ years of graphic design experience
• Highly creative with a strong eye for design and ability to work in sync with in house teams and clients
• Good eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, color theory and typography.
• Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Understanding of typography and knowledge of print/digital design processes
• Experience optimizing photography for digital and print design (image retouching/color correction and photo manipulation)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong digital and/or printed portfolio
• Strong sense of initiative, demonstrated by accomplishing tasks; improving current work processes: and assisting others when necessary
• Unwavering attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work as needs change
•  Ability to work independently, under tight deadlines with the capacity to take direction and implement the most effective creative solutions
• Solid portfolio demonstrating design savvy.
• Strong understanding of mobile platforms, particularly iOS and Android.
• Understanding of the limitations of web and mobile, with approaches/ideas to flex those boundaries.
• Candidate must absolutely be in sync with recent design standards and trends.
• Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique
• Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail
• Ability to create wireframes as well as visual design comps
• Experience with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies

Technology Skills and Strengths

• Design Tools: Mastery of Photoshop & Illustrator
• Conceptual understanding of User Interface Design and the Design Process.
• 3D modeling, After Effects, rendering and animation is a plus
