The Role:
Install, configure, and support an organization's applications and Linux operating systems. Monitor systems to ensure applications availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support applications availability. May assist in system dimensioning, analysis, planning, and coordination between Applications and VM(s) hardware and software. May supervise Applications specialists and will administrate systems operating systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain and administer applications systems and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Analyzes Applications systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency; reviews connectivity requests to determine requirements for installation or modification.
- Establish project priority and to assist with resolution of systems problems.
- Assist to develop policies and procedures related to the implementation, conductivity and utilization of the applications, including access to outside resources such as the Internet.
- Troubleshoots applications problems or systems failure involving hardware and software to determine the causes and possible solutions; implements solutions to resolve problems.
- Develops systems specifications for the dimensioning of hardware or software used in the systems deployment process.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Prepares monthly activity reports for the reporting manager regarding activities, systems problems and utilization.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by the company
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in computer science or related discipline.
- Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Linux+, Eg: CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA, or RHCE
- Web applications operational support experience
- At least three (3) years of experience at the similar position..
