Junior SEO Executive – E-commerce

Vortigon is seeking a motivated Junior SEO Executive specialized in e-commerce to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on improving the online visibility and search engine rankings of our e-commerce website by leveraging fundamental SEO practices. The ideal candidate will actively conduct keyword research, optimize on-page content including product and category pages. This position is suited for a candidate with one year of experience who is analytical and inquisitive. Although this role does not involve managing a team, the candidate should exhibit strong initiative and the ability to handle multiple SEO tasks efficiently. The role also includes writing and optimizing clear, SEO-friendly content for e-commerce websites. Exposure to e-commerce platforms and basic knowledge of technical SEO concepts will enable the candidate to identify improvements in site structure and indexing, contributing positively to Vortigon’s online growth and marketing objectives.

The candidate should understand basic SEO concepts and be comfortable working with websites, spreadsheets, Google Search Console, and common SEO tools. Previous practical SEO experience will be preferred, candidates with strong basic knowledge and the ability to learn quickly are also encouraged to apply.

Note: Candidates with stronger relevant skills and experience may be considered for a higher salary.

Responsibilities

Conduct keyword research for products, collections, categories, and content pages to identify relevant search opportunities.
Research competitors' SEO strategies, keywords, content, and backlinks to identify opportunities for improvement.
Perform on-page SEO optimization including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, images, and website content.
Assist with SEO optimization of product and collection pages to improve organic search visibility.
Improve internal linking across the website to support navigation, crawlability, and page authority.
Optimize existing website content according to target keywords and search intent.
Research relevant websites and backlink opportunities to support off-page SEO activities.
Build and manage backlinks through relevant profile submissions, forums, Web 2.0 platforms, blogging sites, business directories, and other suitable off-page SEO sources.
Monitor website indexing, keyword performance, and search visibility using Google Search Console and other SEO tools.
Assist in identifying basic SEO issues such as broken links, indexing problems, duplicate content, missing metadata, and crawl issues.
Support basic SEO audits and implementation of recommended improvements.
Maintain organized records of keywords, rankings, backlinks, competitor research, and completed SEO activities.
Monitor competitors and research new SEO opportunities that may improve organic traffic and rankings.
Stay updated with SEO trends, search engine updates, and industry best practices.
Follow assigned SEO strategies and complete tasks accurately within given timelines.
Research and apply new SEO techniques under guidance to improve website performance.
Coordinate with management regarding assigned SEO tasks, progress, findings, and recommendations.
