Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring effective and timely delivery of agreed outputs and outcomes as set-out in the project documents of urban programme
  • As a focal point for the project coordination, s/he will oversee all project components and delivery in line with objectives, budgets, timelines and standards of the project.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals, detailed implantation plans and budgets
  • Provide technical support and oversight to the implementing partners and WaterAid for effective and efficient implementation of the project in the targeted districts.
  • Provide field level support through effective engagement with partners/ communities/ stakeholders, conducting regular filed visits to review progress and capacity building of the implementing partners to ensure quality of the field interventions and appropriate targeting of excluded communities
  • Ensure quality of infrastructure work to create models for high quality sustainable service provision
  • Learn and share about new technologies in urban WASH work and share knowledge with partners/ urban utilities/ stakeholders in effective management and innovations in urban programme work
  • Prepare budget variances, analyse partner reports and coordinate the actionable points with the partners on regular basis
  • Provide a timely programmatic support to implementing partners to ensure that all activities are consistent with the project design
  • Conduct periodic project reviews and prepare project reports for donor as well as for WaterAid periodically
  • Maintain and regularly update project repository of all relevant project documents on shared drive
  • Supports Manager Urban Programme in planning and implementation of the urban programme work with proactive input and knowledge sharing
  • Work collaboratively with all teams within WaterAid, keeping them informed of all relevant developments on the project activities as required
  • Ensure that the required project data and information is updated in Project Centre (an online MIS system of WA) periodically
  • Undertake any other relevant work for the improvement of programme delivery

  • Degree in Environmental and/or social Science from a HEC recognised university.
  • Degree from an international university in a WASH related discipline will be preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience of management of community-based WASH projects particularly in urban settings with a national or an international non-governmental organisation
  • Good understanding of WASH sector, urban water utilities and community led water and sanitation approaches
  • Experience in hygiene promotion
  • Significant experience of coordination with partners and government departments

Skills

  • Project Management Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of community mobilisation with interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal communication/ presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web searching/browsing)
  • Skilled in the use of PRA tools/ techniques
  • Understanding of budget management
