Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Network Manager to join our dynamic IT team. As an Assistant Network Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's network infrastructure. Your primary focus will be to assist the Network Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of our network systems and providing technical support to end-users.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Network Manager in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate network requirements and propose solutions to meet business needs.
- Assist in the configuration and optimization of network devices, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, including network outages, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks.
- Monitor network performance, analyze network traffic patterns, and proactively identify and address potential network vulnerabilities or security threats.
- Assist in the planning and execution of network upgrades and expansions, ensuring minimal disruption to network services.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of network policies and procedures to ensure network security, data integrity, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Provide technical support to end-users, including diagnosing and resolving network-related problems, assisting with network connectivity, and configuring network settings on various devices.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution of network issues and efficient procurement of network equipment and services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in network administration or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, MPLS, IPv6 and VPN.
- Familiarity with network equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot network issues.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical support to end-users.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are a plus.
