We are looking to hire IT Support Officer, for Office based position. The incumbent will have to perform the following duties:
IT support officers will be mainly responsible for the smooth running of computer systems, routers, switches, internet and ensure users get maximum benefits of them.
Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring that users get maximum benefits from them. Individual tasks vary depending on the size and structure of the organization, but you'll need to:
- install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
- monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
- talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the Zoom App, to help set up systems or resolve issues
- troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades
- Restricting access to the unauthorized site, downloads and users.
- Verify functionality of hardware and software components
- Setting up accounts for staff, educating them on log in and resolving issues arising
- provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
- support the roll-out of new applications
- respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
- work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
- priorities and manage many open cases at one time
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
- test and evaluate new technology
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of computer maintenance, Server administration (Linux, Windows) Firewall, installation, repair and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of computer networking, LAN, WLAN installation, configuration, troubleshooting.
- Good interpersonal skills, should be able to interact with all staff across all level and cadre
- Creative, open to new ideas and ability to multi-task effectively
Education:
- BSc in Computer Science, or short Courses (CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, CCNA Security) related field
Experience: Minimum of 1 years’ experience (CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, CCNA Security) preferred
