Position Overview

The Business Intelligence - Senior Developer is responsible for the technical implementation of current and future data warehouse, business intelligence solutions and data migration strategies using Microsoft BI stack.

Key Responsibilities

1. Implement new business intelligence and data warehouse requirements using SQL, ETL, business intelligence tools, and database programming and reporting tools
2. Meet with customer business and technical leaders to identify and scope the business opportunities, document and vet business requirements, identify effective reporting techniques, identify the best data sources for reach report field, identify risks and constraints, and design reporting formats
3. Develop, implement, and maintain ETL (extract, transform, and load) solutions to bring new data into the data warehouse
4. Develop optimized database design to achieve acceptable performance by tuning view, tables and indexes for proper response time
5. Develop new capabilities and architectures that capitalize on the development of client portal, and ad-hoc BI capabilities
6. Full life-cycle development and maintenance of data warehouse, ETL, and business intelligence solutions
7. Data analyst skills to determine root cause problems for data integrity and data quality issues identified through QA or by business report owners
8. Provide guidance and recommendation on BI reporting packages
9. Develop ETL Packages using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
10. Implementation/Maintenance of Data Warehouse / Cube building
11. Optimize the ETL Packages
12. Analyze system issues reported by users and present workable solutions
13. Deploy ETL Packages/Cubes on Development/Test environment, and provide deployment instruction for further deployment on production
14. Planning and oversight of the design, build and test environments of the systems and related interfaces
15. Daily supervision of staff and all associated tasks assigned to managing a development and support team
16. Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
17. Provide the technical leadership that allows the team to enrich their technical skills, understandings, methods, and development toolsets
18. Creating unit test cases, creating unit test plans, and executing unit testing
19. Mentor and train technical and non-technical team members 

Required Skills

• 6+ years of hands on experience implementing business intelligence solutions using Microsoft BI stack
• Strong SSRS, SSIS and SSAS skills
• Strong TSQL and MDX query writing skills
• Experience working with PowerBI or Dundas is preferred
• Strong customer service orientation
