Job Description

The Buyer will be at the forefront of evolving the centralization of the Purchasing Function within Zones, and will have responsibility with the Operations Manager in managing and executing the Supplier Relationship Management Strategies.  Along with the Operations Manager, this role will lead in respect of the latest Purchasing and Supply methodologies and techniques, and be pivotal in ensuring enablement of the sales team to fulfill to our clients expectations, regarding the delivery of goods and services.

This position will:

  1. Successfully establish key internal and external relationships with excellent communication skills
  2. Maintenance of Purchasing Processes and Controls.
  3. Procure competitive quotes from suppliers, including price negotiation.
  4. Maintain integrity and a professional level of communication with suppliers.
  5. Resolution of supplier queries.
  6. Deliver year over year cost reduction opportunities
  7. Act as team Leader in the absence of the Purchasing Lead.
  8. Train other internal stakeholders on technical Purchasing processes and techniques as required.

Buyer will be responsible for:

  • Zones Supplier Engagement Process, the accurate update of supplier data on the ERP system, and supplier statuses.
  • Back Order Management and update for top 5 Strategic suppliers.
  • Understand and implement the agreed Purchasing Strategy
  • Achieve best value Purchasing and cost savings for Zones through supplier negotiation and the implementation of the quarterly Tender process.
  • Assist with the review of the appropriate terms and conditions are negotiated, noted on relevant customers quotations/documents, and duly agreed, in order to minimize the company’s risks.
  • Identify and document cost savings, through effective upfront (buy side) negotiation, cost avoidance measures.
  • Optimize supplier database
  • Determination of appropriate placement of supplier purchase orders and expedition, to achieve maximum cost benefit to the company.
  • Prepare purchasing forecasts for the approval of the Operations Manager
  • Ensuring all stocking request are supported by the appropriate customer agreements, covering aged/obsolete inventory risks.
  • To provide industry leading customer service to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction for both internal and external Customers.
  • Actively participate in various ad hoc projects. `
  • Ensure that goods and services are procured based on the best T’s & C’s, price and availability.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years Purchasing experience.
  • IT reseller experience will be a distinct advantage
  • Team Player/collaborator a must
  • Must be able to work with a sense of urgency and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced growth environment.
  • Experience in Business Administration.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Candidates will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interact well with groups, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with little supervision
  • Very organized, high energy, with strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Clear understanding of Sales teams requirements and motivations
