Financial Analyst

Job Description

  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
  • Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Prepare assigned monthly account reconciliations according to month-end close schedule
  • Estimate and book accounting accruals for certain revenue and expense accounts.
  • Review commission able margin adjustments for validity and submit approved adjustments to the Financial Accounting Manager for review.
  • Assist and comply with external auditing and reporting requirements.
  • Provide resource for ad hoc reporting and analysis. Assist with necessary special projects as directed.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
  • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models.
  • Vat compliance including filing of UK and EU vat returns and supplementary declarations.

Requirements:

  • VAT Knowledge with UK TAX
  • Experience with analyzing margins
  • Experience with sales commissions, Sales analysis, inventory reports including calculations.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills (detailed analysis of accounting issues, accounting reconciliations)
  • General ledger accounting experience that includes complex account reconciliations, journal entries and financial statement analysis.
  • Experience working within a ERP system (preferably SAGE) and advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access etc.).
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with an ability to work individually and with others to achieve department goals. Excellent interpersonal skills and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
