I worked as an internee at ITC KSA. The main purpose of my internship was to gain knowledge regarding Fibre to the Home project currently underway in different parts of the KIngdom.I was exposed to the telecommunication workscurrently undergoing in two major cities (Buraidah and Riyadh) in Saudi Arabia.I was oriented with the buildup of the FTTH (Fiber to the HOME) network starting from Survey, Design, Civil works, Ducting, Cable Laying, Splicing and Termination along with various passive network elements used for the same such as Manholes, Handholes, Cabinets, Optical Distribution Frames, Splitters, Optical Distribution Boxes. He was also exposed to active components such as OLT (Optical Line Terminal) and ONT/CPE (Optical Network Terminals /Customer premises Equipment).
I worked on NOC and Data Centre Connectivity, Cable Pulling and Termination of 50 pair CAT-3, 24 core FOC with splicing and complete route design. I was Team Lead (OSP and ISP Survey) for a group of technicians and engineers on Qassim to Madinah highway (500miles) for Ministry of Interior.I was responsible for running basic configuration commands, resolving network issues, configuring operating systems using remote desktop connection.I developed organizational units in Active Directory and managed user security with organizational policies.I was incharge of Control and SCADA building connectivity with the installation of Manholes, OTB’s, 42U cabinets with CISCO CATALYST 2960-X switches, Cable Pulling, Cable Routing, Route Design, Splicing and OTDR testing
