I am a trained clinical psychologist with clinical and research experience working with children, adolescents and adults and I am keen to continue my interests to pursue scalable psychological interventions in low resource settings. As an early stage investigator, I have been working in an intense scientific and research environment under the supervision of well-known academics in the field of global mental health. My earliest work contributed to a project addressing prevalence of anxiety disorders among adolescents in Pakistan, funded by British Council Pakistan under INSPIRE Program. For almost four years, I have worked in one of Pakistan’s most prominent research organization, where I worked on four randomized control trials. I contributed significantly to the development, implementation and evaluation of community based, complex mental health intervention programs for common mental disorders in low resource settings. I worked as the local intervention team lead in the adaptation of Thinking Healthy program (a low intensity, evidenced based WHO program for perinatal depression) to a technology platform. I am an intervention trainer & supervisor for WHO Problem Management plus (PM+); a CBT based intervention delivered by paraprofessionals for adults exposed to adversity in Pakistan (Peshawar, Swat and Rawalpindi) and Nepal. I have worked as the project coordinator on development, scale-up and evaluation of WHO Parents Skills Training Program for children with developmental disorders in rural Pakistan using a cluster randomized trial design. I have significantly contributed in the development and delivery of a CBT based intervention for entrepreneurs working in the adverse conditions of Pakistan under a project funded by World Bank.

I have been trained as national trainer in WHO EMRO School mental health program and have been actively involved in its implementation in Pakistan. I have worked as team lead for technological adaptation of WHO EMRO School mental health program under NIMH U-19 funded School Health Implementation Network in Eastern Mediterranean Region (SHINE) project.
