I completed my MSc in Development Administration and Planning from the Development Planning Unit (DPU) of the University College London, UK, in 2004. I also hold an MSc in Economics from the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. I bring with me more than 15 years of experience of which most is in project cycle management, program planning and resource management in a multi-cultural and geographically diverse context. I have developed knowledge of and expertise in the use of tools for accountability for results such as results-based management, logic models/logical frameworks, performance management frameworks, etc to manage for results, risk management and demonstrate value for money. I have developed both knowledge of and relationships with several Pakistani civil society organisations which has proved invaluable for me as a development professional. I have also established relationships with many international stakeholders and partners, multi-lateral organisations, bi-lateral donors as well as key government and non-government stakeholders. I have worked extensively on gender equality issues from human rights, labour rights, empowerment and participation perspectives. More recently, I have been focussing on women's economic empowerment from an employment, skills and entrepreneurship perspective. I have managed projects using value chain analysis to strengthen women's capacities and skills in particular areas and industries. These projects have also addressed issues of access to micro finance, financial literacy, women's leadership and entrepreneurship skills. I have had the opportunity to build my knowledge of and experience in various governance and democracy challenges and opportunities facing Pakistan. Recently, I have had the opportunity to be closely involved in the area of electoral reforms and election management from an institutional strengthening perspective. This has also involved strategies for making the electoral process more inclusive and transparent especially for women, youth, minorities and other diverse groups.I have also been involved in work around women and youth's political and civic participation.
