The Accounts & Finance Manager role, based remotely from Karachi, is responsible for overseeing comprehensive accounting and finance functions. This includes managing payroll, cash flow, budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, and ensuring statutory compliance. The position supports senior management by delivering accurate financial insights, maintaining robust financial controls, optimizing costs, and contributing to strategic financial planning to promote financial stability and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations:
Manage daily accounting activities such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. Ensure accurate bookkeeping and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes. Supervise routine accounting tasks to maintain smooth financial operations, review financial transactions for accuracy, and keep financial records organized and up to date.

Payroll & Funds Management:
Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, disbursements, and payroll reporting. Ensure payroll compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. Monitor cash flow to maintain adequate liquidity for operational needs. Manage funds, including cash positioning, payment scheduling, and working capital. Keep track of upcoming financial obligations to ensure timely payments.

Budgeting, Cost Control & Analysis:
Prepare and monitor department-wise budgets, comparing actual performance against approved budgets. Conduct monthly cost analyses, investigate budget variances, and recommend corrective measures. Identify opportunities to reduce overhead and operational costs without compromising service quality or business continuity. Analyze business performance to detect loss-making areas and suggest strategies to improve profitability and efficiency.

Financial Analysis & Planning:
Analyze profitability across products, services, clients, and business units. Provide management with financial insights to support decision-making. Assist in developing long-term financial plans aligned with organizational goals. Prepare scenario-based forecasts for expansion, investments, and cost optimization. Monitor financial trends and offer recommendations based on performance.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax laws, accounting standards, and internal controls. Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory bodies. Support audits and ensure timely resolution of observations. Maintain proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Present annual financial reports and key insights to management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, including managing finance operations. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. Hands-on experience with payroll, cash flow management, AP/AR, general ledger, and reconciliations. Solid understanding of tax and statutory compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and accounting/ERP software. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. Ability to handle confidential financial information. Effective communication skills for presenting financial data to management. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in marketing agencies, BPOs, technology, or service-based organizations. Experience managing finances across multiple departments, clients, or business units. Expertise in financial forecasting, profitability analysis, and cost optimization. Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent are advantageous.

Work Location: Remote (from Karachi only)
Salary Range: Rs180,000 to Rs200,000 per month
