Accountant / Financial Analyst

Edge is expanding into the finance sector and seeking an experienced Accountant / Financial Analyst to join its global talent network. This role involves working closely with a U.S.-based entrepreneur managing multiple business entities, including a newly launched subscription-based software company. This position goes beyond traditional bookkeeping; the ideal candidate will establish an accounting function from scratch, clean up disorganized financial records, and provide proactive financial analysis and strategic guidance. The role is full-time and fully remote, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST.

Key Responsibilities

Build & Clean Up Accounting Operations:
- Establish the accounting foundation for a new subscription-based SaaS company.
- Set up and maintain QuickBooks, including chart of accounts, workflows, and reporting.
- Clean up years of inconsistent bookkeeping across approximately 10 legacy entities.
- Manage accounting for multiple LLCs and corporations.
- Support the wind-down of inactive entities, coordinating final tax returns and closures.
- Maintain accurate books for active entities, including property and note-holding companies.

SaaS & Full-Cycle Accounting:
- Manage accounting for subscription-based revenue, including deferred revenue and ARR tracking.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Handle Accounts Receivable and Payable.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare complex journal entries.
- Ensure books are audit- and tax-ready.

Financial Analysis & Strategic Advisory:
- Act as a proactive financial advisor rather than just a transactional accountant.
- Analyze business decisions for financial, tax, and cash flow impacts.
- Develop financial forecasts, projections, and models to support growth.
- Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses, and overall financial health.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights.
- Build financial dashboards for real-time business visibility.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities proactively.

Tax, Audit & Reporting:
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and financial professionals as needed.
- Prepare documentation for tax and audit purposes.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Develop and maintain accounting controls and processes.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a reputable university.
- ACCA or CA finalist status is required.
- 2–4 years of relevant professional accounting experience.
- Strong proficiency in US GAAP and accrual accounting.
- Proven experience managing multi-entity accounting and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Skilled in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- Expertise in bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience with financial forecasting and FP&A.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
