Accountant

Miangul Industries, an ISO 9001:2008 certified export-oriented manufacturer of cotton and blended textile products located in the Industrial and Trading Estate (S.I.T.E) in Karachi, is seeking a full-time, on-site Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily financial operations at the Karachi facility, ensuring accurate transaction recording, ledger maintenance, voucher preparation, and bank statement reconciliation. This role plays a critical part in supporting the company’s financial health by preparing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and cost analysis, and monitoring accounts payable and receivable to maintain timely payments and collections. Additionally, the Accountant will handle payroll calculations, tax compliance, and statutory filings while maintaining thorough documentation for audits. Collaboration with management to provide insightful financial reports, variance analyses, and actionable recommendations will be essential to support both operational and strategic decision-making within a manufacturing and export-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities including recording and posting financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and preparing vouchers.
- Reconcile bank statements regularly to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Support budgeting processes and conduct cost analysis to aid financial planning.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments to vendors and collections from customers.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculations and compliance with relevant tax laws.
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and assist with tax filings and other regulatory submissions.
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation to facilitate internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with management by providing financial reports, variance analyses, and recommendations to enhance business performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand manufacturing and export-related finance processes.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including expertise in general ledger management, bank reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in MS Excel for creating and maintaining spreadsheets, reports, and financial models.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and finance processes specific to manufacturing industries.
- Understanding of local tax regulations, payroll processes, and compliance requirements applicable to export-oriented businesses.
- High attention to detail and strong numerical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in Karachi, manage multiple priorities efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced industrial environment.
