A UK-based accounting firm is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their Lahore office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in accounting or audit firms and be either CA-qualified or a part-qualified ACCA/CIMA professional with at least one year of practical experience. The firm is recognized for delivering expert consultancy and globally standardized financial solutions, trusted by both local enterprises and international partners. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance team while gaining exposure to international accounting standards and collaboration with a London-based team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts receivable and payable processes, including matching, coding, and processing purchase and sales invoices. Maintain debtor balances within targets and regularly reconcile customer accounts. Reconcile accounts receivable balances to control accounts, resolve customer and supplier queries, and implement controls to minimize issues. Handle staff expenses in accordance with company policy and reconcile suppliers’ statements. Process BACS payments and distribute remittance advices. Ensure daily reconciliation of all bank accounts, including credit cards, and reconcile bank balances to control accounts. Produce daily and weekly financial reports starting from the first working day. Prepare monthly management accounts by the fifth working day and lead monthly balance sheet reviews. Participate in accounting system implementations, providing hands-on support as needed. Train junior colleagues and assist London-based accountants with the preparation and filing of external reports such as HMRC and Companies House submissions. Support compliance audits by preparing necessary documentation. Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting quality, internal controls, policies, and procedures, and contribute to ad-hoc projects.
Required Qualifications
Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA professional with a minimum of one year of relevant experience. Ability to independently provide end-to-end client support without assistance from London-based accountants. Proven experience in implementing accounting systems. Strong background in financial and management accounting, including internal controls. Excellent IT skills with advanced proficiency in Excel. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building positive relationships. Results-oriented with a proactive, “can do” attitude.
Work Schedule and Location
The position requires working onsite in Lahore from Monday to Friday, with hours from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM (corresponding to UK time 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
Compensation
A competitive monthly salary of Rs90,000 is offered, reflecting market standards.
